Language Arts Lesson Plans

Language arts entails a variety of lesson plans. Consider the level of difficulty you'd like the lesson to have and also what you'd like the lesson to teach the students, and choose from a variety of lessons related to language arts.

Teaching Language Arts Lesson Plans

A fun way to teach a language arts lesson plan is to choose a word, perhaps a theme for the week. Then, gather enough paper bags for each letter in the word, and write one letter on each bag. Put objects that begin with the letter of each bag in the appropriate bag and have students guess what is in the bag.

Writing Lesson Plans from Simple to Complex

Teach writing lesson plans by starting with simple writing exercises and progressing to more complex writing exercises. For example, you may have students first write a paragraph introducing themselves to the class. Then, you may have students write a 1-page paper giving a brief summary of their life.

Using Reading Lesson Plans

When teaching a reading lesson plan, have students read material that is right above their skill level so that they can continue to improve in their reading abilities. Also, be sure to give students goals for finishing texts also.

English Lesson Plans Idea

When teaching an English lesson plan to elementary students, have students think of certain parts of speech you are teaching and develop sentences using those words. Then, students can work in groups to develop a story using their sentences.

Teaching Vocabulary Lesson Plans

Vocabulary lesson plans can be implemented in a variety of ways from using crossword puzzles to word searches. After students know the vocabulary words fairly well, have students create stories using the vocabulary words and then reading the stories to the class.

Great Grammar Lesson Plans

Teach fun grammar lesson plans by having students think of certain parts of speech that you're teaching. For example, have students think of a noun, verb, and adjective. Then, students will develop sentences using their chosen words.

When teaching English phonics to elementary students, choose a theme for the week that begins with the sound that you are teaching students. For example, if the sound is /b/, perhaps the theme for the week could be bears.

Library Lesson Plans Idea

Allow students to tour the library for the beginning of a library lesson plan. Then, have students choose topics to research and have students find materials in the library that cover their topics, using the resources they know how to use in the library.

Creative French Lesson Plans

A fun way to teach a French lesson plan is to have students create a card for their favorite holiday, using French. For example, students may choose to create a Valentine's Day card. Using any material, students will create a Valentine Day card using French only.
